The campaign

The companion to Understanding Reliability. Where that guide covers how a provider performs day to day, this one covers what happens when something goes wrong: a disaster, an office outage, or a site that can’t operate.

Why it mattered

After 2020, business continuity plans were back on every IT agenda, but few treated the communications provider as part of the plan. Making that connection put RingCentral’s infrastructure and mobility in front of buyers at the moment they were reviewing risk.

How it was built

  1. Research

I looked at where continuity plans break for communications: data center failure, lost office access, internet outages, E911 location requirements for distributed workers, and regional disruption for global companies.

  2. Concept

Three factors that decide whether a provider holds up in a crisis: infrastructure, mobility, and global continuity, followed by transparency requirements for outage communications.

  3. Writing

The same question-and-answer structure as the reliability guide, opened with a scenario the reader can picture: one of your locations is gone, and its employees still need to work.

  4. Design

Matched to Understanding Reliability so the two read as a set.
