The campaign
PBX to Cloud was RingCentral’s largest go-to-market campaign, tied to $50M in ARR. It targeted IT decision-makers at mid-market and enterprise companies whose communications still ran on premises. I managed its content with a tiered strategy: storytelling-led blogs and videos at the top of the funnel, and conversion-focused buyer guides and technical briefs further down. This guide introduced the hybrid path, RingCentral Cloud Connector, which lets on-premises and cloud users dial each other as if they were on one system.
Why it mattered
Enterprise CIOs have spent millions on PBX infrastructure, run different systems at different sites, and can’t afford downtime. A pitch to move everything to the cloud at once gets ignored. The campaign needed a lower-risk option, presented in a way that a skeptical CIO would trust.
How it was built
Research
I mapped the five objections that keep enterprises on premises: sunk cost, multi-site complexity, business interruption, missing skills, and regulatory requirements. Each one gets addressed in the first chapter.
Concept
Instead of opening with the product, the guide compares four real migration paths (rip and replace, Microsoft Teams Direct Routing, migrating through a national carrier, and hybrid PBX) and gives each its due before making the case for hybrid.
Writing
I built a three-year cost comparison for a 2,000-user enterprise, so the financial argument was concrete rather than asserted, and optimized the guide for conversion with clear calls to action, keyword alignment, and persona-specific use cases.
Design
A chaptered layout with the cost table as the centerpiece, and a closing visual that shows cloud and on-premises users connected.
Results
More than 400 MQLs and $2M in influenced pipeline from a narrow, senior audience. I tracked the campaign weekly on asset touch, pipeline, ARR, and MQL conversion. PBX to Cloud as a whole influenced $25M in pipeline and beat its MQL target by 300%.
